Glad to be back! Took some time away after being in Asia for 3 weeks and then returning and getting severe frostbite on my knees (not a fun experience), things got pushed to the wayside. But spring is around the corner (pretend it isn’t snowing in Winnipeg tomorrow) and time to start fresh again. I have so much to post about between Asia details, AMEX coming up for renewal and much more! Thought I would start us back with a little look at my Google Keep this week:

I didn’t know how busy we were going to be at work since the seeds would be arriving for springtime planting but turned out to be ok. I had events at the beginning of the week that I was able to go to!

On Monday I attended a panel discussion in McNally Robinson about the new Canada food guide. Food ties directly back to agriculture and these kinds of talks are very interesting. Obviously others were interested too, because as I arrived they had to put more chairs out. It is hard to go to everything, but once a month try to attend some kind of panel discussion, lecture, or meeting regarding a new topic- sometimes it is nice not to think about the same things all the time! On Tuesday I attended the last mentorship event which is put on by the University of Manitoba to pair women working in agriculture with female students in ag, to learn about jobs, the workforce, networking, and how to drink beer. Just a chance to rub shoulders with people you might not otherwise. Great program- sad it is over for the year.

For a few things to remember for the weekend 1. put clothes in car for warm or cold weather, because field work isn’t temperature dependent! 2. Put cutlery in the car for those days that just DON’T go to plan and you need to get to the bottom of that muffin. 3. Cancel RBC Avion credit card, details to come in my new credit card plan post.

This week I tried to organize my shopping list according to zone of the grocery store. It is easy with Keep as you can just drag and drop the items into the order that you want. Keeping the extra line in between zones helped me glance and know exactly what I wanted from where. I find that these small things can all add up to making things go smoother. These ingredients went towards Black Bean Tacos and Cucumber Salad. Cooking for one isn’t always easy but I try to pick one or two recipes to make in the week, even though I end up eating them over and over again!

What did you do this week?
